Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cancellation policy?
If you cancel or reschedule an appointment with less than 48 hours' notice, you will be charged the full session fee. No Show sessions can not be submitted to insurance for reimbursement.
When is payment due?
Payment is due prior to the commencement of each individual session, ensuring that everything is in order before we begin our time together.
What forms of payment are accepted?
Payments are currently accepted exclusively by credit card. I utilize a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform to ensure that your sensitive information remains safe and protected during the payment processing experience. Your privacy and security are my top priorities, so you can feel confident and at ease while making your payments.
What is sliding scale therapy?
Sliding scale therapy reduces the price based on your income and family size to make mental health care easier to afford. Currently, I don’t offer sliding scale options, but I’m happy to discuss other ways to help. Please reach out so we can find the best option for you.
Do you accept commercial insurance?
Yes, I’m happy to share that I currently accept AETNA and CIGNA. However, insurance benefits vary widely based on location, employer contracts, and other factors. I can't guarantee which specific plans will be in-network until I have your insurance details.
Do you prescribe medications?
No, I do not prescribe psychotropic medications as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Instead, psychotropic medications are typically prescribed by medical doctors, specifically Psychiatrists who specialize in this area. Furthermore, depending on the various state regulations that govern practice, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs), which include Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs), Psychologists, Primary Care Physicians (PCPs), and even Physician Assistants (PAs) have the capability to prescribe these medications in many states across the country.
What is the difference between coaching and therapy?
Coaching and therapy differ mainly in that therapy involves a mental health diagnosis, whereas coaching does not require any formal diagnosis. I can only provide therapeutic services in Nevada, where I hold a professional license, but I have the wonderful opportunity to coach individuals from anywhere in the world, embracing a diverse and global approach to personal growth and development.
